Little To Nothing

before dresser entrance

I love decorating. I love painting the walls of my house and making them mine. However decorating is a luxury. Sometimes one that is not in the budget. But I have managed to make things pretty for little to no money. I have actually only made the smallest little dent. Like microscopic, but it has really made such a difference in my attitude towards my home.

For some reason decorating the tiny little space in the front entrance has been very easy. The curtains were replaced for minimal money and much of what is hanging on the wall I already had. I plan on taking the circle thing all the way up the wall. My eyes are constantly searching for round "things" to hang up there.

I got the dresser from Anty T. It was in her grandmas house and she was such a dear and wonderful woman and I love that I have something from her. I left that piece in that space while I was deciding what to do with it. I was thinking paint, perhaps a fabric top, maybe for the baby's room. Then it hit me. I love it where it is. It just fits. I love the wood, and the warmth but didn't like the knobs. I didn't like any knobs for it. I decided that spray paint may just be the answer. If it looked bad I would just buy new ones. I sort of LOVE it. I like the pop of color and how cheery it makes the whole piece.

The prints are from Arian Armstrong. I actually won them in a giveaway, but I have bought 2 other prints from her and I just can't get enough of her work. These remind me of pureness of our relationship with God. Her work has a sweetness of having a relationship with God that is beyond any words.

This is also the space with my super funky flower light. Every time I walk past this area I am reminded that home isn't quickly blown up into perfection. That it's progress, and sometimes hard, a little worn and maybe creatively put together, but it is what we create and constantly changing. I'm sure this area is far from finished as with the rest of the house. This little entrance is my inspiration and incentive to keep going.
